Best known for his vibrantly colored paintings, Hunt Slonem began a monumental exploration of new mediums after the year 2020. Experimenting in glass, ceramic, and neon, among other mediums, he also embarked on a limited series of prints. Slonem is a notoriously process driven artist; his paintings use so many layers of paint that they require several weeks to dry. He brings that same desire to perfect the process to all mediums he has explored, including his print program.  Created with pigment-based mixed media prints on archival cold press French watercolor paper,  Slonem finishes each print with acrylic handwork which varies from print to print. The handwork elevates the prints and brings the same gestural, texturized brushstrokes we’ve come to expect from Slonem’s painting into the print series.
