From the gilded color pallet to the ornate detailing, Erte’s “Ibis” bronze sculpture embodies all the signature elements of the Art Deco movement. Although Erte first rose to fame in the early twentieth century, he experienced a second career resurgence alongside the Art Deco revival during the 1960s-1980s.
While it was created in 1983, “Ibis” has a timeless appeal that harkens back to the original Art Deco movement. Originally a fashion designer, Erte’s eye for style and understanding of the figurative form shines through in this piece. Erte’s “Ibis” bronze sculpture comes with a gallery certificate of authenticity.
