The American glass sculptor Dale Chihuly is best known for using innovative techniques for handblown glass. His glass practice is a departure from traditional symmetry and perfectly formed vessels and instead characterized by asymmetry and irregularity. The dramatic presentation of Navy Blue Ikebana with Cobalt and Green Stems features long-stemmed flowers and leaves of glass in vase-like vessels. Inspired by Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, Chihuly’s work creates harmony between art and nature while infusing the work with fantastical elements.
Dale Chihuly's Navy Blue Ikebana with Cobalt and Green Stems is signed and dated by the artist on the underside of the smallest piece and comes with a gallery certificate of authenticity from Modern Artifact.
