The early part of Peter Max's art career was synonymous with the psychedelic movement of the 1960s. The bright colors, fun subject matter, and bold styling were perfectly in keeping with the aesthetic of the time. Max's original paintings are known for their heavy brushstrokes and bold, black lines, and "Sky Jumper" echoes those elements through its heavy sketched line use.

Peter Max repeated motifs throughout his career, creating a tapestry of beloved, recognizable characters like Blushing Beauty and Lady Liberty. Sky Jumper was a character he returned to often, especially in his early career. Sky Jumper shows up in a variety of settings, most frequently in outer-space type composition. Since Peter Max is an avid environmentalist, this particular iteration seems especially in touch with his personal priorities.

"Sky Jumper" is numbered and signed on the bottom margin and includes a gallery certificate of authenticity.
