The American glass sculptor Dale Chihuly is best known for using innovative techniques for handblown glass. His glass practice is a departure from traditional symmetry and perfectly formed vessels and instead characterized by asymmetry and irregularity. Inspired by Japanese fishing floats, Black Float with Multi-colored specks and gold leaf symbolize a celestial sphere illustrating the cosmos. The stippled effect resembles igneous rocks sparkling with colorful minerals.
Dale Chihuly's Black Float with Multi-colored specks and gold leaf is signed and dated by the artist on the underside of the smallest piece and comes with a gallery certificate of authenticity from Modern Artifact.
