Since Ackerman's Fine Art is now offering one of these portraits, we thought you might enjoy learning more about the relationship Andy and Mick had with each other.

HOW WARHOL MET JAGGER Andy Warhol and Mick Jagger met at a party in 1964, when the Rolling Stones were on their first US tour. At this time, both were rising to fame and establishing their image. The Rolling Stones were viewed as the dirty alternative to the clean-cut Beatles and art collectors may have viewed Andy Warhol in a similar way compared to other artists of the time, such as Wayne Thiebaud, Japer Johns and Tom Wesselmann.

The artists' first collaboration was for the Sticky Fingers album cover, in the 1971. Mick Jagger described Warhol as nothing more than a voyeur in a tour documentary in 1972, but admiration grew over the years. Both Warhol and Jagger realized that the other could help build their image. Their relationship and collaborations over the years was partly a business arrangement with lavish rock-star parties.

Please note that digital renderings and photographs may feature frames, plinths, or other display staging for illustrative purposes only. Andy Warhol's works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. Andy Warhol's Marilyn and Andy Warhol's Soup Cans are some of the most recognized and collectible of his artworks. From Andy Warhol Paintings to Andy Warhol Prints and unique pieces, the artist's works are available for sale from Guy Hepner.

More than twenty years after his death, Andy Warhol remains one of the most influential figures in contemporary art and culture. Warhol's life and work inspires creative thinkers worldwide thanks to his enduring imagery, his artfully cultivated celebrity, and the ongoing research of dedicated scholars. His impact as an artist is far deeper and greater than his one prescient observation that “everyone will be world famous for fifteen minutes.” His omnivorous curiosity resulted in an enormous body of work that spanned every available medium and most importantly contributed to the collapse of boundaries between high and low culture.

A skilled social networker, Warhol parlayed his fame, one connection at a time, to the status of a globally recognized brand. Decades before widespread reliance on portable media devices, he documented his daily activities and interactions on his traveling audio tape recorder and beloved Minox 35EL camera. Predating the hyper-personal outlets now provided online, Warhol captured life's every minute detail in all its messy, ordinary glamour and broadcast it through his work, to a wide and receptive audience.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1414/9028/files/andy-warhol-mick-jagger-fs147-signed-invitation-announcement-de1.jpg?v=1793114123
https://modernartifact.com/products/andy-warhol-mick-jagger-fs147-hand-signed-gallery-announcement-invitation
